Linkwood And Other Lands

Two seasoned names from the Athens Of The North roster have teamed up in the studio for the first time, and the collaboration delivers a remarkably cohesive sound. Linkwood (Nick Moore) and Other Lands, both hailing from Scotland, have previously moved through diverse musical territories – from edgy post-punk textures to deeper strains of house and techno.

On this joint record, however, they dive into a different universe altogether. The music evokes the golden era of late-70s and early-80s jazz-funk and fusion, calling to mind those sunlit West Coast sessions filled with Moog experiments and laid-back studio jam energy. While some listeners might hear a hint of polished lounge aesthetics, anyone with a soft spot for rich analog synth lines, fluid jazz guitar, and a quietly psychedelic warmth will find themselves right at home.
